Tassie Trip January 2018: Cygnet & Deep Bay

Cygnet, Deep Bay and surrounds

We spent a fair bit of time while we were in Tassie just spending quality time with Jan, Nick and Jess and getting to meet their friends and get involved in their normal life.
Jan enjoys going rowing twice a week with a lovely group of ladies, who are a great social network and support to each other. Even when Jan is unable to row ( due to her heart issues) she still goes along to cox or just spend time socialising at the Sailing club, where they also have dinner and take their turn to work the bar.

Nick enjoys his model boat racing and also socialises at the sailing club, cooking Bar B Qs etc. There was a sailing boat race going on one evening while we were there, so we watched that before having dinner and drinks.

We went in to Cygnet several times this visit. We went to the Sunday Markets and had a good look at all the local crafts and sampled some delicious pies. Scallop pies are a local delicacy and they are indeed yummy!

On morning after rowing we went to visit a friend of Jan's who has a lovely property at Deep Bay with beautiful gardens and vegie beds. She gave us blue tea "Clitorius Teratea" which was very nice if strangely coloured.
