Tassie Trip January 2018: Charlotte Cove and surrounds

At Home in Charlotte cove

Jan and Nick have a beautiful home in Charlotte Cove and their garden is looking particularly lovely now that they've had a couple of years to tend to it.
We were very pleased to flop into a chair in their lounge room which looks out across their garden to the water. We'd walked quite a long way this afternoon. We'd forgotten how late sunset is down this far South (Latitude 43) and although we tried to stay up late enough to see it, and by 9.30pm it was still not quite dark.
How's this for a view?!

Very healthy looking vege patches

That should keep the wildlife out

Nasturciums everywhere

The front of the house

Berries and vegies abound

Starting to get dark

Still not quite dark and it's 9.30 pm!

One thing we really love about Tassie is the beautiful fresh produce. It's berry season and there's a blueberry farm nearby that sells blueberries for $8/kilo and you can pick your own.
Of course we had to go! We ate quite a few while we were picking. Quality control you understand.

Mmmmn yeah! Berry good!

They look beautiful too!

All under netting

Yep we've got a few kilos

The farm had a huge amount of  fruiting trees and sadly not enough pickers to cope with it all. Thanks to the Governmental changes to Backpackers, there's not as many workers now.
We went back a second time to replenish our blueberry supplies before we wen home

Do you think we have enough?
