Day 13 Saffron Walden Church, Hamida and family

Saffron Walden Parish Church

We are having a quiet Easter at home. No-one wanted to drive too far astray as the roads are very busy, and there are petrol shortages (thanks to Extinction Rebellion blockades)

John and Barb went into Saffron Walden to do some grocery shopping at the Waitrose store, and while we were there Barb spied the ruins of the ancient Saffron Walden Castle and the spire of a lovely church behind.

Not much left of the Castle it has to be said

The parish church, more like a cathedral - it didn't disappoint

It was impressively big

Inside, the architecture was lovely

Barb especially liked the stained glass windows

Very pretty

This lovely park is right across the road

Some of the building in town are quite delightful too

We've spent some time catching up with some of Susan's friends. This is Pat & Richard's place.

Hamida, Susan, Barb and Sofia at Susan's place on Easter Saturday

John, Hamida, Sofia, Paul and Susan have morning tea
