Lap Around Australia Kathleen Springs to Mt Ebeneezer

Kathleen Springs to Mt Ebeneezer

We've certainly enjoyed our stay at Kings Canyon. Apart from the horrendous price of fuel. John filled our tanks from the jerry cans we were carrying rather than pay the exorbitant rates.
On our way to Mt Ebeneezer we called in to do the final walk at Kings Canyon; Kathleen Springs.
This is a rather pleasant and easy walk to a place where two gorges meet and there is a permanent waterhole at the bottom.

After our walk we chose to drive on to the picnic spot we'd used on the way in to Kings Canyon which we knew was a bit less fly-ridden.
Steve had baked a cake that he was keen to share....and it was delicious. I think we might be eating too much cake on this trip, but at least we're doing exercise to counteract the effect.

On our way to the campground at Mt Ebeneezer we pulled off the road to pick up some firewood for tonight's campfire. We want to roast marshmallows on an open fire, but it's been difficult to find places that allow open fires (or generators for that matter.
Mt Ebeneezer campground was pretty basic. It did have a toilet and shower block of sorts. We chose an un-powered site at $5 per person and ate at the restaurant which served a full roast pork and veges meal for $14.40 each. Bargain!

After dinner we fulfilled the dream of an open fire and toasted some marshmallows. Steve got the technique of fire-building and toasting just right. It was a great night
